C3 Unveils EmpowerHer Climate Accelerator for MENA Sustainability Startups
C3 has launched EmpowerHer Climate, a six-month virtual accelerator for more than 30 climate adaptation startups across the Middle East and North Africa, according to Entarabi.

Funding source: a grant from the Resilient Futures Fund. Application cutoff: August 31, 2026. Capital deployment: $150,000 in non-dilutive grants split across the top 10 startups, equity untouched.
Capital Stack
Total grant pool: $150,000. Selection cap: 10 startups. Average per top-10 venture: $15,000. Structure: non-dilutive. Founders retain 100% equity. Duration: 6 months. Format: virtual.
The Resilient Futures Fund is managed by 2X Global and backed by Amazon, Reckitt, Skoll Foundation, The UPS Foundation, and Visa Foundation. C3 operates inside Global Ventures — a UAE-based Series A investor with $400 million AUM, 65+ investments, and 7 exits across 10 emerging markets since 2018. Medea Nocentini, Senior Partner at Global Ventures and Founder of C3, frames the program as a bridge for ventures serving MENA's climate-exposed populations.
Throughput Parameters
Modules delivered to the cohort: climate finance, solution design, go-to-market strategy, impact measurement, gender-responsive leadership. Layered support: mentorship from industry experts and investors. Output gate: regional Demo Day in Egypt, with startups pitching to the investor audience. Top 10 selection runs through an advisory committee — capital flows to that subset only.
Eligibility is open to women-led ventures and mixed-gender founding teams. The thematic filter: solutions strengthening climate resilience for women and girls.
Bottleneck Audit
MENA ranks among the most climate-exposed regions globally. Adaptation-stage capital supply stays thin. C3's mechanism is narrow by design: small checks, structured curriculum, equity-preserving, targeting a specific resilience segment rather than the broad MENA adaptation market. Deal flow concentrates. Throughput improves per dollar deployed. Breadth does not.
Jessica Espinoza, CEO of 2X Global, frames the partnership as a way to scale intermediary capacity that attracts larger pools of investment downstream.
